Assemblies Are Good

I wanted to share with you some pictures from my time at SIM's Global Assembly in Johannesburg, South Africa. Due to safety protocol for those serving in "creative-access" areas of the world, I am not able to show you more than the following picture from inside the conference itself. It was amazing, though, to celebrate with nearly 500 of my colleagues who serve in more than 60 different countries and who also happen to be sent from over 60 different countries! It is such a unique experience to be a part of something so dynamic and diverse - a wonderful image of Christ's international body moving on a large scale. It was more than encouraging to learn in the seminars, to hear amazing stories of God's movements in the world and to worship in the various languages and styles.

Don't worry, I have plenty of other pictures for you - we had a couple days to check out Johannesburg and Pretoria. It was cool to chat with some of the locals and get pretty up-close and personal with some of the four-legged ones!

I also took a bus across the border into Botswana with a Paraguayan friend I had just met. It was a crazy time - very cool to see this lesser-known beauty of a city, but wow, we met so many amazing people in such a short time there. God placed key people in our path to guide us, encourage us and seemingly be encouraged by us as well!
